Carla Nelson

Senior Director, Healthcare & Public Policy

Carla Nelson, MBA is the Senior Director of Healthcare & Public Policy and Findhelp. In her role, Carla analyzes federal and state policies and translates them into actionable Findhelp strategies that support sales, marketing, product development and customer and community success. Prior to Findhelp, Carla was Vice President of Ambulatory Care & Population Health at the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), a trade organization representing more than 160 member hospitals and health systems. There she worked closely with hospital leaders and government agencies on regulatory matters in a variety of healthcare delivery areas, and led the organization's social determinants of health work. Before GNYHA, Carla worked in ambulatory care operations at a large academic medical center where she was responsible for project management, patient-centered medical home implementation, and quality and process improvement initiatives across primary care and specialty practices. Carla earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law and her Master of Business Administration from Binghamton University.

Jorge R. Petit, MD

Founder & CEO of Quality Healthcare Solutions

is a board-certified Adult, Community and public psychiatrist and healthcare executive leader with over 30 years of focused attention on innovation and healthcare transformation for those most in need and vulnerable people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, those struggling with mental health and substance use challenges, individuals in poverty, facing eviction or homelessness, and all those marginalized, unemployed and disadvantaged. Dr. Petit is the founder and CEO of Quality Healthcare Solutions providing expert consulting, advisory and technical assistance services ranging from cross-system advisory to State mental health authorities as well as consultative projects throughout the U.S. He is a thought leader, author and blogger BH: Matters. He serves as Strategic and Development Advisor for ZeroOverdose as well as Clinical Advisor to Emotivo Health. He was most recently the President and CEO for Services for the UnderServed (S:US); a community-based, multi-service non-profit that drives scalable solutions to transform the lives of people with disabilities, people in poverty, and people facing homelessness: solutions that contribute to righting societal imbalances. He was the former Associate Commissioner for the Division of Mental Hygiene in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Dr. Petit is an active member of SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) National Advisory Council and sits on the board of Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) and Mental Health News Education (MHNE). He is a member of the Committee on Psychiatric Administration & Leadership in the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP), United Hospital Fund (UHF) Health Policy Forum, as well as a member of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Medical Director Institute (MDI).
