About this Event
Join us on Monday, March 31st for our first installment of BROADWAY UNPLUGGED by the great AMANDA BAILEY & ARIEL NEYDAVOUD at the legendary Minton's Playhouse in Harlem.
About Broadway Unplugged:
Broadway Unplugged is an intimate, stripped-down concert series presented by celebrity vocal coach Jeremiah Abiah. Showcasing both Broadway’s brightest stars and the rising talents on their way to the stage, this unique experience strips away elaborate sets and amplified sound to reveal the raw, acoustic power of storytelling through music. Featuring reimagined show tunes and behind-the-scenes insights from the artists themselves, Broadway Unplugged is a night of authenticity, passion, and Broadway magic—unplugged.
About the artists:
AMANDA BAILEY is very excited to be a part of Broadway Unplugged at Minton’s. Selected credits include Watch Night(Perelman PAC); Escape to Margaritaville (Engeman Theater); Newsies (5-Star Theatricals). Film: "I Won The Lottery". TV: "Law and Order: SVU," “Bronx’ish,” and “Power Book 3.” Amanda would like to thank God, her manager, Susan Campochiaro Confrey of CBU Management, Inc., and her agent, JC William Agency, for their love and support in pushing her career ongoingly. Also, a huge thank you to Jeremiah Abiah, her vocal coach, for this opportunity.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ariel (pronounced unlike the beloved mermaid) is a multidisciplinary artist whose parents encouraged and inspired his passion for the arts from an early age. Following his move to New York, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the most innovative minds in theatre, including Daniel Sullivan, Kathleen Marshall, Warren Carlyle, and Stephen Brackett. He was chosen by Lonny Price to portray a leading role in his remount of the musical “Kismet” for the first American production to authentically cast SWANA/MENA actors. Most recently, he performed in “Watch Night,” an original, multi-genre work about race and gun violence in America, at the Perelman Performing Arts Center where it ran as their inaugural production under the direction of Bill T. Jones. His love for theatre and his unique life experience have recently culminated in a new chapter, and he is currently developing his first play: a comedy-drama about his Persian-Jewish family. Deeply committed to utilizing theatrical storytelling as a medium for activism, he is fiercely passionate about expanding the scope of SWANA/MENA voices in theatre and is an active member of the SWANA Writers' Cooperative.
Mark your calendars and get ready for a night of unforgettable melodies!
