About this Event
Ramble Worldwide is the UK’s leading independent walking holiday specialist, trusted by thousands of people for over 80 years. Founded in 1946 by walking experts and enthusiasts, we have always believed in the transformative power of exploring on foot. Today, we invite you to step into adventure, with over 300 carefully curated walking holidays across the UK, Europe and destinations worldwide.
Join us on this free guided sample walk to experience the camaraderie and sense of adventure that thousands of our guests have enjoyed before, and help us celebrate the last 80 years as we step into our next adventure.
This circular walk starts at Govan Cross, taking you past Govan Old Church, home to fascinating Viking-age sarcophagi. You’ll cross the River Clyde via the Govan Footbridge, with views of the Tall Ship, before continuing on to the Transport Museum and the impressive Kelvingrove Museum, where you’ll find Dalí’s famous Christ of St John of the Cross.
From there, the route winds through Kelvingrove Park and along the Kelvin Walkway to the Botanic Gardens, including the beautiful Kibble Palace. Heading up Byres Road, you’ll reach the University of Glasgow, with its Harry Potter-like architecture, before passing the Hunterian Museum and returning to Govan Cross via the subway — a varied walk packed with history, culture, and some of Glasgow’s most iconic sights.
To ensure a smooth pace and the best experience for all participants, we kindly ask that our hikes remain pet-free and child-free. This helps us keep the group moving comfortably and ensures everyone can fully enjoy the adventure. Thank you for your understanding.
