If mindfulness is the cultivation of awareness, Relatefulness is the cultivation of awareness interpersonally. Practicing Relatefulness is a frontier where any modality that explores the interpersonal space is included.
This weekend will include exercises, practices, and FLOW. Flow is a practice stemming from Encounter Groups. Flow can look structureless, which can be quite intense for people to experience, or it can feel as natural as seeing an old friend. In normal life, we rely on seemingly infinite conversational traffic norms that can feel like “politeness.” We don’t specifically set out to upend or disrupt these norms but seek to shed the limitations of thinking, “everybody needs to take a turn,” as well as “anything that looks like structure is wrong.”
There are no specific rules, but you will notice people’s cultural norms creating clusters of behavior that look like implicit rules. This DIVE will have us interacting with longer warm-up exercises to more fully immerse in the structures of FLOW.

The benefits of this practice are innumerable. From feeling alone in a crowd to navigating family dynamics, the practice of Flow promotes a fluidity that seems to foster peace around concepts of Love, Truth, seen-ness, expression, and listening.

Mike has been practicing and leading Relatefulness for 10 years. With a Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology, he does Relatefulness-based coaching with groups, couples (including parents and their adult children), and one-on-one private clients. He is the creator of The Relateful Company’s Flow Facilitator training program and an instructor for the LevelUp Relatefulness Facilitator training.

• Please arrive early to settle into the space before we start. 15 minutes early is great, but it’s okay if you’re just on time.
• This event is a “brave space” rather than a “safe space.” There are no guarantees about how you will be received by the group. If you want a certain kind of reception, you are empowered to create it.
• Be prepared to take agency and say yes or no as needed. While guided, this practice requires personal responsibility.
