Cooksville Acoustic Fest is an intimate music festival presented by Joe Lawniczak, and co-sponsored by the Cooksville Community Center, with lights and sound by Evansville Underground Music. It is held in the historic village of Cooksville, Wisconsin each spring. It is free of charge ($5 suggested donation). It will be held outdoors in the Commons if weather allows, or inside the historic one-room schoolhouse if not. Water, food and soda will be for sale by Second Chance Animal Advocates. Please bring your own alcohol and lawn chairs.
This year's fest will be on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 1-5 PM. The lineup will include the following...
CHRISTOPHER GOLD (Appleton, WI) (approx. 3:00-4:30 PM)
Christopher Gold is a Kentucky-born songwriter living in Wisconsin. Over the years he has written and recorded folk songs, country songs, rock & roll songs, and everything in between, citing a love for songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, John Prine, and anybody else whose work begins with paper and pen. He travels primarily as a solo act, carrying on the folk tradition of performances that blend music, storytelling, and humor. You will leave entertained and energized.
MARK LEFEBVRE (Milwaukee, WI) (approx. 2-3 PM)
Mark Lefebvre is young at heart and in appearance, but he has been making music for over fifty years. His influences span every one of those decades, but lean heavily on alternative and folk, creating his unique and whimsical songwriting style. An extremely talented musician, he makes his guitar sing with amazing ease, and his songs are stories in and of themselves.
MARY ROSE (Neenah, WI) (approx. 1-2 PM)
Mary McCurdy (aka Mary Rose) is a passionate singer-songwriter who draws inspiration from artists such as Jenna Raine, Ruth B, and Taylor Swift, whose storytelling approach influenced her to bring her own imagined and lived experiences to music. While her true love is playing guitar and performing her original songs, she has also enjoyed success in choral and musical theatre, earning recognition at both regional and state levels. She loves sharing the stage with artists of all genres.
