About this Event
Better FED Kitchen’s Cooking for Cancer class is designed for individuals undergoing cancer treatment, survivors, and caregivers who want to improve nutrition during the cancer journey. This 90-minute class focuses on creating meals that are nourishing, easy to digest, and tailored to the unique nutritional needs of cancer patients.
Led by nutrition experts, the class provides insights into foods that help manage treatment side effects like nausea, loss of appetite, and fatigue. You’ll learn how to prepare nutrient-rich, easily digestible meals that promote healing and recovery while addressing common challenges cancer treatment patients face.
During the class, we’ll demonstrate three cancer-friendly dishes that are gentle on the stomach, easy to prepare, and packed with essential nutrients to support the body during treatment and recovery. These meals are designed to provide necessary energy, help maintain muscle mass, and address any nutritional deficiencies that may arise during cancer treatment.
We’ll focus on ingredients known for their anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and healing properties, such as leafy greens, whole grains, and lean proteins. You’ll also learn practical tips for meal prepping, portion control, and navigating the challenges of maintaining proper nutrition during and after cancer treatments.
Participants can taste each demonstrated dish to recreate these meals at home. In addition, our instructors will provide advice on grocery shopping, meal planning, and adjusting meals to suit individual preferences or treatment-related dietary needs.
Whether you’re currently undergoing treatment, in remission, or caring for a loved one with cancer, this class offers valuable insights and practical tools to help you make informed, healthy food choices.
