Cooking and Baking 101 Camp

Calling all aspiring chefs and star bakers! Is your kitchen the heart of your home? Our 4-H Cooking & Baking 101 Camp is the ultimate weekend-style workshop for kids aged 9–12 to master the art of the oven and the stovetop.

Over two action-packed days, we’ll dive into a flour-filled, flavor-packed journey where campers learn that cooking is part science, part art, and 100% delicious.

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and put on an apron. During this two-day intensive, we will:

• Master the Essentials: Go beyond the basics with hands-on training in measuring, mixing, sautéing, and safe knife skills.
• The Best of Both Worlds: From savory entrees to sweet, golden-brown baked goods, campers will explore the balance of heat and sugar.
• Flavor Chemistry: Discover how fresh ingredients transform into mouthwatering dishes and learn the secrets to "seasoning to taste."
• Kitchen Confidence: Learn to read a recipe like a pro and navigate a kitchen with independence and safety.
• Teamwork & Tasting: Collaborate with fellow chefs-in-training to prep, cook, and—most importantly—sample every single creation!

Our experienced instructors provide a safe, supportive, and high-energy environment. We believe the best way to learn is by doing (and maybe a little bit of flour-dusting). Whether they are flipping a pancake or frosting a cupcake, your child will head home with new skills and a full stomach.

Every child attending camp must have an active profile in 4-H Online. This is our primary system for managing camper safety and communication.

1. Create a Family Profile: If you are new to 4-H, start by creating one primary account for your household.
2. Add Your Camper: Create an individual profile for each child attending camp.
3. Complete the Health Form: Ensure the medical section is up-to-date so our camp counselors are fully prepared to support your child.
