Team Composition & Equipment
- Roster: Co-ed 4s.
- Requirement: At least one female player must be on the court at all times.
- Game Ball: The yellow OPTX ball is the default.
Ball Handling & Contacts
- Block Contacts: A block does not count as one of your team’s three touches, nor as an individual touch.
- First Contact: Doubling the first contact with finger action is legal (includes serve receive and freeballs).
- Second Contact: Doubling the second contact is legal (NCAA style), provided it occurs in a single attempt and stays on your side of the net.
Attacking:
- All players are eligible to block and attack at or above the net. Setting & Attacking Restrictions
- Setting Over: Illegal unless the ball is perpendicular to the shoulder line or the ref deems it a legitimate attempt to set a teammate.
- No Tipping: Open-hand tips are prohibited.
- Jousting: Open-hand jousts are legal if contact is simultaneous with the blocker.
- Redirecting: Blockers may redirect the ball using one or both hands.
Faults & Court Rules
- Net Touches: Any net touch during play is a loss of point (unless the ball is already "down").
- Center Line: Crossing under the net is legal as long as it does not interfere with the opponent.
- Antennae: In the absence of physical antennae, the poles serve as the boundary markers.
Service
- Tosses: You are allowed only one toss per serve.
- Net Serves: Legal (let serves).
