On Thursday December 4, this year of 2025, scientists will gather together in the Crown Room of the Queen Theater, with their instruments and devices, with the intent of honing in on interstellar object 31 / Atlas, as it approaches from the constellations Serpens Cauda and Sagittarius. After focusing in on said interstellar object, a conversation will be opened up with it. Our scientists and anthropologists will inform 31 / Atlas that the Earth is not ready for seeding, and to pass us by this time. This will be the second time such an attempt to make contact with a comet has happened, the first attempt being by the Sun Ra Arkestra, with the Comet Kohoutek in 1973.
Doors will open at 7 pm, and open to communing and mingling in preparation for the event. The event will be bathed in color by Philly's Crazy Eyes Liquid Light. Music will start at 8pm. This will be a very psychedelic experience, combining elements of modular, electronic composition, jazz, and futurism. The taking of photos and video, and audio archiving, are encouraged.
