ABOUT: Rochelle Grayson
Rochelle Grayson is a dynamic leader and entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience in business, technology, and education.
As the Founder of and Co-Founder of , Rochelle empowers underrepresented innovators, entrepreneurs, and organizations to adopt AI responsibly, creatively, and sustainably.
Rochelle has taught AI courses at the UBC Sauder School of Business, focusing on AI application, innovation, and ethics for Canadian and international students ranging from high school through to Executive Education. Rochelle has also received the UBC John K. Friesen Excellence in Teaching award.
As an Executive-in-Residence at New Ventures BC, Rochelle has mentored over 200 startups in the past 5 years – blending strategic insight with soulful leadership. She is equally comfortable unpacking AI business strategies & AI stewardship, digital business models, startup funding strategies, marketing trends, and community-building strategies – and always brings a collaborative, curious spirit. Because Rochelle straddles the worlds of industry and academia, she teaches using a global, applied, and innovative approach. As a former EdTech Advisor, Rochelle enjoys leveraging technological and business developments in her classes and is focused on preparing students for the jobs of the future. Moreover, as a trilingual, multicultural individual who has lived and worked in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America, Rochelle truly appreciates and brings a global perspective to every room she’s in.
Recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network, Rochelle has been named "The New Executive Cool Hunter" by Canadian Business Magazine, awarded one of Vancouver's Top Forty Under 40 by Business in Vancouver, and named one of Canada’s Top 20 Black Tech Entrepreneurs. Rochelle holds an MBA in Finance and Business Policy from the University of Chicago, a BA in German Literature, and Six Sigma (Black Belt) Master Certifications in Product Development Management and Business Facilitation. She is also the author of Foundations in Digital Marketing (BCcampus) and Applied Marketing (Wiley).

As part of the value-added experience of attending Corpus Christi-St. Mark's College at the University of British Columbia, we are committed to providing our students with opportunities early in their university experience to learn from the perspectives of learned, focused leaders of conscience. The Conversations with Change Makers series will encourage our students to learn from the experiences of others across a range of professional, service and philanthropic backgrounds.

The Conversations with Changemakers series brings thought leaders, distinguished academics and industry experts together with students who are committed to the highest goals of lifelong learning.
Speakers can share their experience, passion, and vision directly with students. Students are able to ask questions and learn first-hand from change makers who are recognized for contributions to their communities and the world.
