August 7th, 5:30pm - Featuring Dixon Bergman & Corin Finnie - Conversation
Dixon Bergman earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Union College and has also engaged in graduate programs at Yale School of Art. Many years back, Dixon disassembled a battered vintage guitar and rearranged the elements in a composition reminiscent of the early cubist painter style. Once finished, he could see that his artwork still had the essence of a guitar, but was now enhanced with refreshing new geometry. Three-Dimensional (3D) Cubism had jumped off his canvas!
The Colors Within by Corin Finnie is a journey into the body. This series began as a way for Corin to deepen her understanding of how the body works—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Inspired by her study of Medical Qigong over the past two years, she’s been learning how each organ holds its own energy, story, and wisdom.
The currently displayed exhibits are "Visually Tuned" by Dixon Bergman on guest levels 3, 4, & 5 along with scultpures in the Lobby and "The Colors Within" by Corin Finnie on levels 6, 7,& 8.
September 18th, 5:30pm - Hal Schwarze - Conversation
Hal Schwarze attended the Portfolio Center for Design in Atlanta, Georgia. He focused on the illustration program and then gravitated after school to fine art painting. This body of work explores the combination of linear elements with more expansive fields of negative space. Hal states, "The impetus for my work stems from delving into both conscious and subconscious artifacts. Memories of moments spent in observation of the human condition.
The currently displayed exhibit is titled "Ethereal Journey" is located in the Lobby Gallery.
