Conversations in Jazz returns on Sunday 29 March, 3pm at St John’s Church.

For this edition, Ilario is joined by Aaron Liddard — saxophonist, composer, and a much-loved presence on the UK and international jazz scene.

Aaron and Ilario met in Germany at Jazzahead, and later performed together in 2024 as part of a UK jazz showcase in Europe. Since then, they’ve been sharing a musical journey — and a friendship — rooted in deep listening, curiosity, and the joy of exploring new sounds.

This concert brings them together as a duo for the first time, exploring the theme of space: where Ilario’s piano, guitar and voice meet Aaron’s soulful saxophone in a genuine dialogue — spacious, expressive, and fully in the moment. Watford is also a special stop on Aaron’s “Back from the Tarmac” UK tour.

Expect original compositions, reimagined classics, groove-led improvisations, and moments of quiet reflection — all in the magical acoustic of St John’s, where music and community meet.
