Conversations in Behavioral Health: Building a Mindful Community

Mental health affects every corner of our community — our families, workplaces, classrooms, and neighborhoods. Yet too often, meaningful conversations about behavioral health happen only after a crisis occurs.
Conversations in Behavioral Health was created to change that.
Now in its third year, this impactful summit brings together professionals, community leaders, educators, healthcare providers, and residents who share a commitment to strengthening mental and behavioral health across Polk County.
This power-packed, one-day event features:
• 3 Keynote Speakers sharing powerful insights and lived experiences
• 8 Breakout Sessions covering practical strategies, emerging issues, and community solutions
• Dozens of local behavioral health organizations providing resources and support
• Opportunities to connect with professionals, advocates, and community partners who care deeply about this work
Throughout the day, participants will engage in open, honest conversations designed to build understanding, reduce stigma, and equip people with tools they can use in their everyday environments.
You’ll leave feeling more informed, more connected, and more empowered to help create healthier, more supportive spaces in Polk County.
This event is ideal for:
• Behavioral health and healthcare professionals
• Educators, school staff, and youth advocates
• Nonprofit and community leaders
• Law enforcement and first responders
• Employers and HR professionals
• Faith leaders and ministry teams
• Parents, caregivers, and community members who care about mental wellness
Whether you work in the field or simply want to better support the people around you, this summit provides valuable knowledge, real conversations, and meaningful connections.
