Author Christopher C. Gorham and Rebecca Rabinow, Director of the Menil Collection, discuss Henri Matisse’s life and work during the German occupation of France. Drawing from Gorham’s recent book "Matisse at War," 2025, the conversation examines how the artist balanced deep personal anxieties with the creation of some of his most iconic works. This program takes place in the main building, located at 1533 Sul Ross Street.
As always, Menil programs are free and open to all.
