The Art of Steven ParkhurstiPhoneography · Painting · Drawing
The work in this show, Convergence, is Steven Parkhurst’s endeavor to express how his drawing, iPhoneography and painting influence each other to represent his artistic language. These are works that result from an unfiltered thought process where the basic design is established then the piece dictates the direction. However, the plan is usually abandoned soon after the first pencil, brush stroke or photo editing session then the process and his imagination take over.
Steven describes himself as a “maker”, he makes objects that please his artistic sensibility and finds joy in the process. Works in this show include graphite drawings, paintings (oil and acrylic) and iPhoneography. Steven is a charter member of the Great Lakes iPhoneography Group. He has shown work locally, throughout Michigan, and the Midwest. Exhibited though 6/21.
