It's BACK! Friday May 2 - Sunday May 4th, we are super excited for the 7th Convergence Festival at SFU Downtown. WCCI is gathering 14 teachers from near and far: from Vancouver, Salt Spring, LA and Montreal, to offer their contact skills to the community. It will be a smorgasbord of everything from contact, performance, embodiment-training to clown. Andrew Harwood is a great performer and contact teacher who will be sharing his wonderful composition work, and there will be lots of beginner classes, jam time, and down time to delight every skill-level, pallet and nervous system. Whatever's your jam. ;) we've got you covered.The festival check-in starts Friday morning at 9:30... giant opening circle at 10 and goes right through til Sunday at 10:00 pm ending with a two hour jam. You have to register for the whole thing to keep the container strong but of course folxs come and go as they please. SFU downtown is in a funky part of Vancouver, so there's lots of restaurants and shops to enjoy nearby. We will be doing an underscore lead by Anne Cooper, and classes in body work, somatics and clown alongside world-class contact teachings so the offerings are rich and varied!
We are limiting the numbers this year to make classes more spacious. We have sold out every year, so get your tickets soon. Early-bird is $290CAN til April 15th... then $300CAN. Pay by e-transfer to [email protected] to avoid Eventbrite fees.. but if you're American you can use Wise @jonic19.
Food and lodging is not included but drop a line and we'll see if we can hook you up with our excellent and supportive contact community. There are some couches on offer around and about.
