About this Event
It's cold outside! Warm up at Mechanics' Hall and participate in our last of three contra dances this winter.
For those who may not know... Contra is a social dance built around simple, repeating patterns, live music, and a lot of partner changes. Dancers form long lines, move together, and meet many people over the course of the night.
This dance will take place in our historic ballroom, with amazing live music by Paper Plane and calling by Alyssa Adkins.
All ages and dance levels are welcome (the beginner's lesson starts at 7 PM). Come alone or with friends!
Tickets are $15 for Mechanics' Hall Members, $20 for General Admission; no one turned away for lack of funds at the door
ABOUT THE BAND
Paper Plane is a soaring contra dance trio from the Boston area, comprised of multi-instrumentalists Daniel Raine, Emma Azelborn and Rohan Weeden. Hypnotic whistle and vocals will have you floating over the dance floor while rocking fiddle and strumming grooves bring you in for a smooth landing.
