Welcome to a Contact Improvisation dance. It's a sober and drug free dance. It doesn't cost anything and what you need to do is press "going" or send me a personal message.
Where:
At the lawn outside Riksdagen.
Jam structure :
Arrival to the lawn at Riksdagen before starting time and there will be a guided Intro/warmup.
Jam will start after 1-1,5 hours.
If you are an experienced contact improvisation dancer you can join at any time.
We start with a guided intro where we dance solo and in contact as a means to (re)meet some basic CI techniques and as a reach to a natural flow of movement. This will be followed by an open jam.
Prices: It doesn't cost anything.
Contact Improvisation is a form of dance art with multiple layers and dimensions, where listening and staying truthful to your own movement in relation to your environment; the space, and other people is key.
This event is open for everyone with a curiosity to dance in and out of contact. Dancing, observing and being in the space is all part of the jam. Take care of yourself and the space of improvisation; we emphasise that you are free to enter or leave a dance at any time. To keep the focus on dance in the space, talking and socialising takes place away from the group. If you want to pause your dance, please move to the side. We dance barefoot in comfy clothes.
About Contact Improvisation
Contact Improvisation is a dynamic movement form and dance practice where we move in and out of physical contact, following gravity and sensation. Together we engage in a fluid, evolving flow of movement characterised by unpredictability that sharpens the reflexes and opens up for an enigmatic interaction and (dis)orientation in and through us.
Contact Improvisation was developed in the context of experimental postmodern dance and performance practice in the 1970s in the USA but has since expanded beyond its original contexts and is now practised by diverse communities of movers across many parts of the world.
