Come and move with us - Contact Improvisation in ŌtautahiTuesday evening session 19th August at 6:30pm, we are trialing the St marks methodist church hall, a beautiful venue with plenty of room for plenty of dancers : )
A time for exploration and movement based around Contact Improvisation dance practices. Initial guidance and prompts offered by Felix and Rawhiti followed by open jam space at the end encourages movers of all abilities including those new to contact dance.
The space is facilitated, and an emphasis on self responsibility and personal choice are key values brought to this event.
- Rawhiti's contact improv practice builds upon contemporary dance and recent training in Open Floor facilitation; she is
a wonderful guide for authentic expression through improvised movement.
- Felix also has contemporary dance training and two years of contact improv experience and brings to the workshop a deep
interest in collaborative improvisation with a delightful sense of playfulness and sensitivity to the tender and emotional potential of dance.
A contribution towards costs is welcome but not required if that does not feel available to you.
Ra and Felix are trialing this to see if there are enough keen beans. Would love to see you turn up so that we can move together and make a regular fun jam community.
