Are you new to contact improvisation and want to learn the basics? Are you experienced but want to refine your technique and revisit some principles? Then this workshop dedicated to Contact Impro Fundamentals is for you!
Contact improvisation (CI) is a dance technique in which points of physical contact provide the starting point for exploration through movement improvisation. The workshop offers an introduction to contact improvisation, technical skills for safe practice and a playful approach to the following themes: rolling point of contact, giving/receiving/sharing weight, leading and following, lifting and rolling.
We start with a warm-up focusing on bodywork and body awareness that gives an introduction to touch and listening through body surfaces. Movement tasks in contact improvisation technique serve as tools for the exploration of the bodily communication between you and your partner(s). We finish with an open jam where you can play with the learned material and discover your own dance.
Contact improvisation is for all movement enthusiasts. Dance experience is not required.

Price: 150-555 NOK (Sliding scale)
Drop-in price must be paid upon arrival before the workshop via vipps 48668556 or cash. The sliding scale system allows you to pay according to your financial situation. By paying more you make it possible for others to pay less.
Doors open 15 minutes before the event and will be closed by the start of the event. Please bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Ingeborg Dugstad Sanders and Anna Thu Schmidt are Trondheim-based dance artists who have been working together since 2017. Both share a passion for contact improvisation, dance improvisation, and integrated dance. Schmidt and Sanders have explored the international CI-scene, and have been hosting several contact improvisation workshops together in Trondheim.
