A program built for the warm, vast acoustic of St Vincent de Paul, WFC's Constellations explores uncommon choral music from the renaissance to today. From works like Michael Harrison's “Just Constellations,” composed to be sung in midwest grain silos, to works written for ancient cathedrals, we contemplate the starlit wonder of the December sky. We wait and we seek ways in which centuries talk to each other. We explore wisdom passed from generation to generation. We discover the ways in which vocal music from throughout history shares a thread.
Additional works by Judah Adashi, Kerensa Briggs, William Cornysh, Eric Dudley, Jean Mouthon, Timothy Noon and Arvo Pärt round out this meditative evening.
