Doors:8p/Show:9pInstrumental progressive rock trio Consider the Source has been honing in on their unique sci-fi fusion sound for over a decade, but it is with their 2024 release, “The Stare” that their sonic vision is fully realized. Produced by David Prater (Dream Theater, Firehouse), the 5-song album reveals more of the heavy metal influence the band has always had while also including the improvisational and cultural elements they have become synonymous with. This new collection of material certainly showcases their cutting edge instruments and technical virtuosity but the focus here is on the songs, chock full of catchy riffs and melodies ranging from delicate and heartfelt to full on headbanger’s ball.
