Join Painting Conservator Tijana Cvetkovic and Paper Conservator Jennifer Cauchi as they discuss the conservation process for artworks in the exhibition, ‘Future Proof: Paintings in Perpetuity’.Highlighting the conservation process
In this floor talk, conservators Tijana Cvetkovic and Jennifer Cauchi will be sharing their experiences conserving paintings in the exhibition Future Proof: Paintings in Perpetuity.
This exhibition asks, ‘What does it take to preserve an artwork in perpetuity?’ A mandate to preserve can take many forms and sometimes we need extra help to not simply preserve these taonga, but to make them shine into the future.
Tijana and Jennifer will share insights into why these paintings were selected for conservation, what the preservation treatments were and some of the stories behind the paintings.

The Paintings in Perpetuity programme
Future Proof: Paintings in Perpetuity showcases paintings that have had conservation treatment through the support of the Turnbull Endowment Trust and the Paintings in Perpetuity programme.
The programme was created to fund external conservation treatment for artworks in need of special care, so that they are available for generations to come to appreciate.
The funds provided by the Trust and other generous donors have allowed us to treat these precious paintings, but there is much more to do to future-proof the Library’s large painting collections.
