Get ready for four days of singing, dancing, and performing at the Conservatory Musical Theatre Showcase. Students from the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts’ youth musical theatre programs are sure to dazzle and delight the audience with their triple threat status.
Performances on DAY 2 will include the following (in performance order):
Advanced Glee (Tuesday class) presents MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT Young@Part Edition. It’s just a flesh wound! MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT, lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people—Oh, and did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? Bursting with unforgettable songs, absurd humor, and zany characters, this musical is a rollicking celebration of all things Monty Python. The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards®, including Best Musical. MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT is a gloriously entertaining journey that will leave audiences in stitches from start to finish. This production of MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT Young@Part is a 60-minute edition of the Broadway musical designed for youth. Original Book, Music and Lyrics by Eric Idle. Music and Lyrics by John Du Prez. MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT is directed by Katlyn Redding.
Advanced Glee (Saturday class) presents The Audition: The Musical! It's everyone’s favorite time of the year: the school musical! A passionate new theatre teacher is determined to take their high school’s drama program to the next level with an ambitious production of A Chorus Line. But before the curtain can rise, a cast must be chosen. What follows is a chaotic, hilarious, and heartfelt audition process filled with hopefuls of all kinds: the overachievers, the anxiety-prone, the misfits, and the stars-to-be. Through soaring songs, dizzying dance steps, and personal revelations, these students bare their insecurities and dreams, discovering that the spotlight isn’t just about landing the lead, it’s about finding your voice. The Audition: The Musical! is a fast-paced, funny, and deeply touching celebration of theater, resilience, and the courage it takes to put yourself out there. Book by Don Zolidis.
