On Thursday, January 16 at 12:15 p.m. Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will resume with a recital of music from opera and operetta as arranged for duo and solo piano. The performers, Galina Prilutskaya and Inessa Gleyzerova Shindel, are members of the Westminster Conservatory faculty. The recital is open to the public free of charge and will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton.The January 16 program is entitled "The Poetry of Opera and Operetta: Emotions in Every Note", and comprises music by Mozart, Verdi, Tchaikovsky and Strauss.
Galina Prilutskaya has performed extensively as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician throughout the United States, Germany, and Russia, including special appearances in Richardson Auditorium, Moscow Conservatory, and the Liszt School of Music. Her students have received numerous awards and acknowledgements of excellence in piano study. At present Ms. Prilutskaya is a faculty member of Westminster Conservatory in Princeton, NJ.
Inessa Gleyzerova Shindel received a master’s degree in music from the Belorussian Academy of Music, Minsk. Her performances in the United States include solo recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Kosciuszko Foundation, and chamber music recitals at Merkin Concert Hall. She also won the hearts of the audience with her technical brilliance and artistic insight in Italy at the Meranofest’95. Ms. Gleyzerova Shindel was the First Prize Winner of the Metlife Music Competition. Harris Goldsmith of the New York Concert Review magazine wrote: “Inessa Gleyzerova is a well equipped pianist and burgeoning musician of potential stature…” Ms. Gleyzerova Shindel is a faculty member of Westminster Conservatory as well as one of the artistic directors of the Music-Fest Rising Talents Festival.
Westminster Conservatory at Nassau recitals will continue on February 20 with a recital by the Volanti flute quartet.
