The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 12, 2026, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. This act, coinciding with the nation's 250th anniversary, aims to entrust the country to Christ's love and encourage national renewal. As the United States of America commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the USCCB joins this celebration by lifting up the contributions of Catholics and the impact of our faith on the history of this country. In a historic moment, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 12, 2026, and invite all parishes to join in this consecration.
As part of the consecration, we will gather on Friday, June 12 at 12 noon at Ascension of our Lord, Donaldsonville, for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a Liturgy of the Word, Prayers of Consecration, Litany of the Sacred Heart, and Benediction. Mark your calendars and plan on joining us.
