Join us for an exploratory workshop that will allow us to release untapped vocal resources and deepen the connection to ourselves and to each other. The voice is one of the tools that we rely on heavily to express ourselves daily. In our busy modern life however, we rarely have a chance to use it consciously or look at its full potential.
Exploring the voice and vibrations in the body can offer us a way to connect with ourselves and with others on richer and more meaningful levels, while at the same time helping us to find a way to work with obstacles and blocks in our voices.
At this workshop, we will use simple exercises and the celebrated polyphonic songs of Georgia in the Caucasus as a laboratory in which to expand the strength and depth of our voice and ourselves.
Students of all levels of experience are welcomed – as a group we will range from singers with prior knowledge of the Georgian singing tradition to novice singers and those interested in exploring the potential of their voice.
