About this Event
The Sykes Metalwork Gallery includes objects made across time from the Bronze Age to the current day. Many of these incorporate natural themes such as animals and plants. Join us to explore big ideas about human nature, craft, beauty and time. We'll be asking questions such as: is it human nature to recreate nature?
We’ll use the current exhibitions to stimulate new thinking for an informal but in-depth conversation.
As part of a group, you’ll explore Sheffield Museum’s collections and consider how they resonate today. This is philosophical enquiry – collaborative thinking, talking and listening to build our understanding. Enjoy exploring ideas with others in a setting steeped in history.
All are welcome, no experience necessary.
"Really interesting to share thoughts and ideas with others like this. The facilitator also did a really good job of running the group and ensuring that everyone got their say. I really had no idea what to expect - but would very happily come to another of these." - previous attendee.
Suggested donation £5 – help us send imaginations soaring! A donation from you could supercharge children’s learning, help people unlock their creativity and see visitors embark on journeys of discovery that last a lifetime.
