This event features a new series of public video artworks created by students in Art 130A: Projects in New Technology. Developed during Spring Quarter 2026, the works explore the relationship between students’ personal experiences at UC Irvine and the broader history of the institution.

Through archival research, reflection and experimental filmmaking, students created short video projects connecting individual narratives with UC Irvine’s evolving identity. The films engage themes including student life, memory, place, activism, belonging and the ways institutional histories are experienced through everyday campus life.

Presented on a large multi-screen array at the Pippin Recreation Center in Middle Earth Housing, the videos will remain installed throughout the coming year. The project provides students with hands-on experience creating site-specific, research-based media artworks for a public campus setting.

Free and open to the UCI community

Refreshments will be served.
