A nature-based gathering bringing together people from different professions to connect, share perspectives, and inspire environmental aware
About this Event

Connected In Nature is our first gathering.

A relaxed outdoor morning on the Bennelong Lawn at the Royal Botanic Garden, where people from different professions come together to connect, share perspectives, and explore how the environment connects to their work and lives through their own unique lens.
There are no presentations. No panels. Just open, honest conversations in a beautiful, natural setting with people you haven't met yet, who see the environment differently than you do.
Each month, we gather around a different topic that connects us to the environment.
This month's topic is"Our Connection to Nature."

Because when people from different walks of life sit together in nature and start talking, something shifts Environmental awareness stops feeling like someone else's responsibility. It becomes personal, collective, and possible.
About EnvironmentallyAbled
EnvironmentallyAbled is built around one simple belief: every person, in every profession, has the skills and the capacity to create environmental awareness and make a real difference.
You don't need to be an environmental scientist. You don't need to be an activist. A chef who talks about food waste, a teacher who brings nature into the classroom, an architect who designs with sustainability in mind, a photographer who tells stories through nature — each of them is already contributing to environmental awareness in their own way. They might not know it yet.
This event is for you if:

🌿 You care about the environment and want to connect with others who do too.

🌱 You want to make a difference in environmental conservation, whatever your background.

🌍 You want to help protect the environment but aren't sure where your role fits.

🤝 You want to meet people from different professions who are thinking about the same things.

💡 You believe that awareness, conversation, and community are where real change begins.

Come as you are. Bring your picnic blanket and your perspective. Leave inspired by what your profession and you can do for the environment.

What to expect on the day
You'll be welcomed onto Bennelong Lawn and given space to settle in and say hello (bring a picnic blanket and anything that helps you feel at ease).
From there, the morning flows gently — introductions where everyone shares who they are, what they do, and what brought them here.
A yarn where real stories and honest perspectives are shared across professions, exploring
how the environment touches each of our lives in different ways.
And a closing moment to reflect together before the gathering wraps up.
After 11 am, the structure ends, but the conversations don't have to, and the gardens are beautiful.
