About this Event
What drives riveting conflict?
What are the universal drivers and transformations of the three stories we will be discussing?
All of them will stay with you long after our afternoon together. read these stories with a different set of eyes after our time together.
Presented by Criminologist and Author Susan Magestro, we will explore the themes of conflict between:
- Man vs. Man
- Man vs. Group
- Man vs. Himself
- Man vs. Nature
Using three different stories, all inspired by truth with displays of enormous resilience, strength and hope:
- The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton: Serving thirty years on death row for a crime he did not commit. His conviction was based on an erroneous ballistics report. His story of staying present, mentally strong and embracing the love and friendships in your life will leave your heart full. Do you carry this book?
- Priscilla Breen, Criminologist: The Capture, a riveting psychological thriller that weaves emotional depth with forensic complexity.
- Heartfelt Moments: She's Everyone's Daughter, an unforgettable story of a community and a family making it through unprecedented challenges with grit and determination.
Lecture begins with a humorous short called "The Day I Lost My Panties In Pr*son."
