About this Event
This half day workshop will identify areas that are considered confined and enclosed spaces including both permit and non-permit required, and address specific practices and procedures to safeguard employees from the hazards of working in confined and enclosed spaces. This course is designed to comply with OSHA’s standard for confined spaces and safe entry procedures, Title 29 CFR Part 1910.146 “Permit-Required Confined Space”.
Key topics will include:
- Characteristics and definition of a confined space
- Hazards and risks of entering a confined space
- Confined space entry procedures
- Hazard controls and safe work practices
- Isolation of energy sources (lockout-tagout)
- Confined space standby, evacuation, and rescue
Who Should Attend:
Employees from Department of Public Works, Water, Wastewater, Parks and Recreation, Building and Grounds, Facilities Maintenance, or anyone who works in or around confined spaces, or any supervisor responsible for such employees. This course may also be beneficial for Public Safety Employees, such as Fire, EMS, and Police to increase awareness of confined spaces and related hazards.

- There will be a $50 "No Show" fee for anyone who registers but then fails to attend the training.
