About this Event
The Mindfulness Movement has been an exciting success in terms of public uptake - more people are practicing mindfulness now than ever before.
In our culture, self-confidence issues are very common, so if you, or someone you know, has them, you are in good company!
Dr. Julie (a research scientist) and Lama Kathy (a meditation instructor) will discuss the science of how the brain’s reward system gets mixed up, leading to common difficulties. But we don’t have to feel “stuck” in our confidence problems. They’re actually quite amenable to change.
Our presenters will lead us in mindfulness techniques that work with how the brain is naturally set up, and can foster a healthy view of oneself - able to rise above any mishaps and grow our already-amazing qualities.
No Monsters under the bed: Mindfulness allows one to gently look within and see that thoughts and emotions are really not so big.
You’ll leave having learned mindfulness and loving-kindness meditations to help switch the brain into a more positive, energetic mode, with growing confidence in how much one can care for the worldginia as well as teach exercises now being studied as the "next frontier" in Mindfulness research.
TICKETS for this COSI Science Festival event will be available starting Monday March 13 through 7 PM Friday May 1. We would appreciate a donation of $1 or more to defray costs, but if you do not have financial means, please feel welcome to reserve a Free Ticket.
