Join Ron Ben-Israel as he shares his journey to becoming the owner of one of the world’s most renowned couture cake studios.About this Event
Ron Ben-Israel, owner of one of the world’s most renowned couture cake studios, began his confectionery journey after a 15-year career as a modern dancer. In 1999, he launched his flagship bakery in SoHo, later relocating to a larger space in Manhattan’s Garment District. The facility now includes a design studio, production kitchen, showroom, classroom, and event space called Above Twelve. Ron gained national recognition as host and judge of Food Network’s Sweet Genius, and continues to appear on shows like Chopped, Cake Wars, and The Big Bake. He also travels extensively as a teacher and speaker. Among his most iconic creations are the Sex and the City 2 cake in partnership with Swarovski and The Plaza’s 100th birthday cake—a 12-foot replica of the historic hotel that served 1,500 guests.
