About this Event
English:
The Westminster Ensemble is the advanced chamber chorus of the Upper School choral music program and is composed of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As an auditioned chorus, the Ensemble performs sacred and secular music from the Renaissance to the present as well as more contemporary music, which might draw influence from Gregorian chant, Appalachian folk tunes, African American spirituals, American musical theater, or other popular repertoire. Under the artistic direction from Chris Walters, the ensemble is touring through spain to share their repertoire and their voices with the world.
In this concert, they sing together with the local Choir Conservatorio Profesional de Musica "Cristobal de Morales" directed by Antonio Prieto.

El Westminster Ensemble es el coro de cámara avanzado del programa de música coral de la escuela superior y está compuesto por estudiantes de segundo, tercer y cuarto año. Como coro seleccionado mediante audición, el Ensemble interpreta música sacra y secular desde el Renacimiento hasta la actualidad, así como música más contemporánea, que puede estar influenciada por el canto gregoriano, las melodías folclóricas de los Apalaches, los espirituales afroamericanos, el teatro musical estadounidense u otro repertorio popular. Bajo la dirección artística de Chris Walters, el conjunto está de gira por España para compartir su repertorio y sus voces con el mundo.
En este concierto, cantan junto con el coro local Conservatorio Profesional de Música «Cristóbal de Morales», dirigido por Antonio Prieto.
