Kanola Band brings together some of the most experienced and diverse musicians in the midwest US jazz scene to pay tribute to the great music, culture, and heritage of New Orleans. Dipping into the city's diverse musical history including traditional swinging Dixieland, groovin' Zydeco, and soulful R&B to blasting brass band second lines, audiences of all ages will leave feeling just a bit happier than when they came. Bring your dancing shoes, leave your worries behind, and be ready for some fun, because Kanola Band is always a good time!Concerts in the Park is a program of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, with support from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, Kzoo Parks, WMUK, Encore Magazine, and the Michigan Arts & Culture Council. It is one of Kalamazoo’s long-standing traditions offered in June, July, and August in Bronson Park delivering a unique offering, unlike any other. Each concert is free and is friendly for the entire family. Picnic meals, blankets, or lawn chairs are encouraged.
There is not a rain site for Concerts in the Park. If inclement weather is expected the concert may be canceled by 2:00 pm that same day.
On-street parking is available all around the perimeter of the park. Additional parking is nearby at the South Street Parking Garage.
