This December as the world reflects on another turbulent year we’re inviting Londoners to come together for an evening that celebrates the power of music and the endurance of peace.
Echoes of Peace (13 December St Columba’s Church Knightsbridge) marks 30 years since peace was declared in Bosnia and the founding of Firefly International a UK charity supporting young people affected by war. Through live global music a moving short film and stories from artists who have experienced conflict and displacement this event explores how creativity and collaboration can heal divides - and why peace remains an unfinished promise.
Featuring:
- One World Orchestra – a vibrant ensemble of international musicians fusing traditions from across the globe.
- Bassel Hariri – Syrian violinist blending Arabic classical jazz and Celtic influences.
- The Score – a touching short film about music memory and exile by Bosnian refugee Aleksandra Bilić.
- Hosted by journalist Phoebe Greenwood (The Guardian Vice News on HBO).
