Ketevan Asatashvili Ward
Born in Tbilisi in 1987, Georgian pianist Ketevan Asatashvili Ward began playing the piano at the age of four under the guidance of her mother. At six she entered the prestigious Z. Paliashvili Special Music School for Gifted Children, where she studied with the renowned pedagogue Darejan Tsintsadze. Very early on she began appearing on stage, both as a soloist and with symphony orchestras, earning public recognition for her musical maturity and poetic phrasing.
Ketevan’s international career also began at a young age: her first competition, “Jeunes Pianistes” in Paris, brought her a First Prize, followed by invitations to perform at festivals, recitals and competitions throughout Italy, Greece, Russia and Georgia. She continued to collect numerous awards and accolades across Europe during her formative years.
She went on to study at the V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire with Professor Svetlana Korsantia, graduating with highest distinction. In 2011 she completed her Master’s degree with a 100% top mark and received the “Diploma of Outstanding Artist.”
Since relocating to London in 2019, Ketevan has maintained an active performing schedule. She has recently appeared in such prestigious venues as the Royal College of Music’s Britten Theatre, the Royal Academy of Music, and is a regular guest performer at London’s historic Reform Club, collaborating with acclaimed chamber musicians and guest artists.
Alongside her performing career, Ketevan is the founder of the British Georgian Music Academy London, where she is recognised as a highly respected teacher and mentor. She is passionately committed to supporting young Georgian musicians in the United Kingdom and promoting cultural exchange through performance and education.
