KELVIN LARKIN: A DETROIT LEGACY RETURNS
The last time Kelvin Larkin played Compression, it was alongside his brother Kenny - a moment that connected two generations of Detroit's electronic music lineage on one stage in Hollywood. Now, as Compression continues its 20th anniversary celebration in Las Vegas, Kelvin returns for his first show of 2026.
After stepping away from social media to focus on studio production, Kelvin chose Compression as his return to the decks. That's not coincidence - it's history completing another circle.
WHO IS KELVIN LARKIN?
Born and raised in the heart of Detroit, Kelvin Larkin has a passion for electronic music that runs deep in his family legacy. His fascination with DJing began in the late 1990s, fueled by the gritty drum patterns of underground dance music and the deep crates of his hometown. Initially, he explored vinyl at the iconic Record Time, but his true education came from the scene's architects - Carl Craig, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen.
His most significant influence comes from his brother, Kenny Larkin. Watching Kenny masterfully blend emotive jazz textures with machine-driven rhythms provided Kelvin with a blueprint for his meticulous mixing style. With releases on Art Of Dance Records and remixes on Version Underground, Kelvin's goal remains constant: to create those rare, visceral moments where the DJ and the dancefloor become one.

Stylus (Robtronik + DJ Thee-O) - Compression's resident duo combines Robtronik (Compression founder, curator, and host of Compression Radio on Live365) with DJ Thee-O, a Southern California veteran with over 30 years behind the decks. Together they set the evening's foundation with classic techno, minimal, and Detroit-inspired selections.
Bad Beat (Las Vegas) - Curator of Las Vegas techno culture through his Techno Taco Tuesdays series and owner of MNTRA Entertainment, Bad Beat has become a driving force in building the city's underground scene.
