Lakewood is launching a new residential food scrap drop-off program in January 2026! Join us for a FREE, family-friendly workshop to learn how easy and affordable it is to keep food scraps out of the landfill using convenient drop-off sites across the city.

Workshop Agenda
Composting 101 – What is composting, why it matters, and how it supports a circular system that reduces waste (5 minutes)
Food Scrap Drop-Off Program Overview – How the program works and where drop sites are located (10 minutes)
Local Commercial Composting – What happens to your food scraps after drop-off (5 minutes)
Accepted Materials – What can and can’t go in the compost carts (15 minutes)
