About this Event
If you're somebody who eats, you're a part of Orange County's circular organics economy! Since rolling out residential composting, OC has been expanding compost production and compost use - building a healthier, water wise landscape with the magic of your food scraps.

8:45am - 10am: Compost Blowing Demonstration at James A. Musick Facility

10am - 12pm: UC ANR South Coast Research and Extension Center (REC) Tour
- Hop on the Wagon Tour and check out the Teaching Garden and learn rapid composting techniques and see how research is shaping water-wise landscaping and food production systems.
12pm - 1pm: Lunch Provided at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill
1pm - 3:30pm: Frank R. Bowerman Landfill & Greenery Tour
- Check out what happens to your food scraps and yard waste at a massive scale. Tour the site, get a close up look at the equipment, see learn how FRB is innovating new ways to reduce emissions and create high-quality compost.
Along the way, meet jurisdiction representatives, landscapers, urban gardeners, composters and compost lovers of all shapes and sizes. Come participate in the conversations that are building a circular and regenerative economy in OC.
