About this Event
If you're somebody who eats, you're a part of Orange County's circular organics economy! Since rolling out residential composting, OC has been expanding compost production and compost use - building a healthier, water wise landscape with the magic of your food scraps.
This event will caravan attendees from the OC Waste and Recycling compost site at Frank Bowerman landfill to the UC ANR South Coast Research and Extension Center (REC) to learn about gardening, farming, and water wise landscaping, and finally to the Musick J*il, where we'll showcase an unexpected opportunity to use compost for erosion control, sediment filtration, and dust control.
Along the way, meet jurisdiction representatives, landscapers, urban gardeners, composters and compost lovers of all shapes and sizes. Lunch and refreshments will be provided!
