BRUSH CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP!The Joy of Calligraphy

We’re delighted to be hosting our Introductory Brush Calligraphy workshop with our friends at CASS ART Manchester, Northern Quarter on Saturday July 6th from 11am – 1:30pm! £59 (same price as 2023!).
All our Mellor & Rose Workshops are suitable for Complete Beginners and Intermediates as we work through the core fundamentals of Brush Lettering and Calligraphy. Guided by expert tutors; Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor, we’ll begin by learning the core fundamentals of Calligraphy; how to hold the brush pen, pressure strokes and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower case alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. We’ll also learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our Calligraphy and Handlettering on luxe card stock and stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to layout our Stationery such as greeting cards and gift tags whilst learning to letter up and design a piece of wall art – exciting!
