Spring is in the air, and in celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, the Village of Frankfort is inviting residents, businesses, and community organizations to get outside and give back during a community-wide cleanup event on Saturday, April 18, 2026.From neighborhoods and parks to roadways and the Old Plank Road Trail, volunteers of all ages are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand to the land. Bring your friends, family, or co-workers and turn a Saturday into a day of fun and community impact.
Event Details:
• Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Volunteers may participate at any time throughout the day, finishing by 4:00 PM.
• Supplies: Garbage bags, gloves, and a commemorative T-shirt (while supplies last) will be provided. Supplies can be picked up at Village Hall between April 13–17, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Participation: Volunteers will select a cleanup location when picking up supplies. Areas may include neighborhoods, subdivision entrances, roadways, parks, or the Old Plank Road Trail.
After collecting trash, participants are asked to place filled bags in visible areas such as rights-of-way, subdivision entrances, along the trail, or near parks for Public Works pickup.
Prizes and Recognition:
Add a little fun to your cleanup! Volunteers can participate in a photo contest with prizes awarded in the following categories:
• Largest Item Collected
• Strangest Item Found
• Most Trash Collected
To enter, submit a photo of your item(s) to [email protected] by 11:59 PM on April 18, 2026. Winners will be announced on April 20, 2026.
Student Participation:
Students are encouraged to join in and can earn community service hours.
