Community Tree Planting | Volunteers Needed + Open House + Fun Activities
Celebrate Arbor Day in action! Join the City of Santa Cruz Parks & Rec on May 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at University Terrace Park for planting trees, meeting friends, and enjoying fun, family-friendly activities! Whether you want to volunteer or just hang out, there’s something for everyone. Bring your friends and family, get your hands dirty, and help make our community greener and happier. We can’t wait to see you there!
Volunteer Details
- Help plant 60 trees with guidance from our experts
- Family-friendly—minors must be accompanied by an adult
- No experience needed; all tools, materials, and snacks are provided
- Wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get your gear

Not volunteering? Select “Community Welcome – Arbor Day Activities” to join us! Come by, watch live tree planting in action, meet neighbors, and enjoy interactive educational booths and fun activities.
What to Expect:
• Live tree planting demonstrations
• Educational booths with local experts
• Fun, family-friendly activities
Drop in anytime: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM — no volunteer commitment required. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
