About this Event

We are excited to invite the community to tour the new Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station (GWWTS). This new state-of-the art facility treats up to 70 million gallons of combined rainwater and wastewater during heavy winter rain events. Join us for a community tour and learn how this facility is improving water quality of the Duwamish River. We will walk through the treatment process and tour the extensive green stormwater features onsite Attendees will leave with a deeper knowledge of how they can protect our waterways.

Tour involves walking up and down 2-3 flights of stairs. Closed toed shoes and long pants are required. The majority of the tour is outside.

Participants must be at least 9 years old.


Directions and transportation-

We DO NOT have on-site parking. We encourage attendees to take public transportation; if you do drive, please plan to park off site.

Parking: Parking in the industrial part of town where the facility is located can be limited. We recommend allowing ample time to find street parking and arrive early to ensure you have enough time.

Public Transit Options:

Bus: The area is serviced by several bus routes operated by King County Metro Transit. The closest bus stops are located at 4th Ave S & S Michigan St (Routes 131 and 132) and 4th Ave S & S Lucile St (Route 124).

Light Rail and Bus: Hop off at the nearest light rail station in SODO and take Metro bus routes 131/132 to 4th Ave S & S Michigan Street.
