Explore the songs that travelled across the seas into and out of Japan. We will start with a warm up, humming in harmony to the well-known tune, Les Champs-Elysees. Then we will introduce some island spirit, and blend it in with a Japanese song, Nada Soso. You will learn to sing the Japanese classic, “Sukiyaki” - in Japanese! - to end the session. The Japanese ukuladies will accompany, singing along with everyone.About Franjapanis:
The Japanese ukulele social group, Franjapanis, was unofficially formed around 10 years ago. They gather at each other’s homes over tea or wine to share a love of ukulele music. Some members also sing with the Wasabi Choir, led by Meg Hirata, performing at local events over the past decade.
