The cities of Maplewood & Richmond Heights are hosting another paper shredding & electronics recycling drive-thru event:Saturday, March 2
from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
at the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center parking lot,
7570 Lohmeyer Ave, Maplewood, MO 63143.
(It's a drive-thru event, you don't even need to get out of your vehicle!)
St. Louis County residents can dispose of your sensitive documents and electronic waste in a FREE*, safe, and responsible way thanks to a grant from St. Louis County Department of Health. (See below for all details)

* This is meant for paper with sensitive information on it; regular documents can be recycled in your curbside cart.

Thanks to the grant from St. Louis County Department of Health, St. Louis County residents can donate up to two (2) TVs or monitors for free while funding lasts! Proof of residency is required.
- What They Take: They accept any electronic device that plugs in or uses a battery in any condition; working or non-working; new or old. The list is too extensive to list everything, but it includes all home electronics and home appliances and all office and industrial automation equipment. They also accept rechargeable batteries, ink/toner cartridges, wires, chargers and any other peripherals relating to electronic equipment. They can even recycle your metal cabinets and other metal components.
They DO NOT accept:
Although they accept most electronic devices, there are a few items that they do not accept due to regulations or lack of viable recycling options:
- fluorescent light bulbs/tubes;
- alkaline batteries;
- mercury thermostats;
- any device with a radioactive symbol;
- any device that contains biohazard material;
- any device containing explosive material. Gas or oil powered devices MUST have the liquid removed.

New this year! We'll also have barrels to collect non-perishable foods for the local school districts Weekend on Wheels program! This program supports children in the district who may need food on the weekends when school is not in session. The pantry is low on the following items:
(1) pasta sauce,
(2) ramen,
(3) hearty soup,
(4) mac n cheese,
(5) kids pasta
(6) pop tarts/toaster pastries
