Interactive workshop hosted by Low Carbon Gordano, North Somerset Council and CSE for local people to explore renewable energy in their area
About this Event

The way we produce and use energy needs to change. We need a lot more energy from renewable sources like wind and solar to meet the UK’s climate targets. At the same time, it’s difficult for many people to keep their homes warm in winter, even though it’s essential for health and wellbeing. Staying warm in winter is a basic right for everyone.

Community-led energy projects keep benefits local – from cheaper energy bills to investment in local facilities. When communities lead energy projects, they create solutions that work for everyone – tackling both climate change and rising energy costs

If you can't make the event but would like to receive a survey and information about the workshop outputs, please share your information in this short form and we'll be in touch after the workshop.

What is the workshop?

Low Carbon Gordano, North Somerset Council and The Centre for Sustainable Energy invite you to join this interactive workshop to share your thoughts on community energy in the area, getting your views as local people.

Low Carbon Gordano and North Somerset Council have partnered with the Centre for Sustainable Energy who will help deliver this workshop. This project is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme.

What will happen in the workshop?

It will explore how your community can play a role in the UK’s national efforts to take climate action – thinking about what renewable energy could happen in your area and how it could benefit your community.

The workshop is aimed at anyone who lives or works in the Clevedon and Kenn area. Everyone is welcome - if you have an opinion on community energy, we want to hear it. You don’t need to know anything about community energy as there will be information provided during the workshop.

We hope to see you there - book your free spot by getting a ticket via this event page.

Accessibility

Unfortunately the workshop is taking place on the 2nd floor of the Community Centre with no wheelchair access. Separate toilet facilities including disabled toilets can be found on the ground floor. Two disabled parking spaces are near the entrance to Princes Hall.

If you need support to be able to access this workshop, you can fill out this short form to request expenses, for example childcare or travel reimbursement.

You can also OPT IN to claim your free £20 food shop voucher. Please let us know when booking.

What happens after the workshop?

After the workshop, a written summary of what was discussed will be publicly available. A survey will then be shared, for people who weren't at the workshop to add their thoughts and ideas to what was discussed. We will also be setting up stalls at local markets and events across Clevedon & Kenn to gain further insight from residents in the area
