Building a Bigger Table: Community Party for Memorial Day WeekendGood Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria invites neighbors of all ages to a free Community Party on Sunday, May 24, 2026. The morning will begin with worship at 10 a.m., followed by the Community Party from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the church, located at 100 W. Luray Ave.
Centered around the theme “Building a Bigger Table,” the event is designed to bring the community together for fun, connection, and service during Memorial Day weekend. Guests can enjoy a bounce house, lawn games, children’s activities, food, and drinks in a welcoming outdoor setting.
The event will also include hands-on service opportunities for all ages, giving attendees a chance to support local neighbors in need. No registration or preparation is required — participants can simply show up and join in.
“We believe community grows stronger when everyone has a place at the table,” said church leaders at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. “This event is about joy, hospitality, and creating opportunities to serve together.”
