Hello friends! The Pittsburg Arts Council is proud to announce a special community art experience celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Pittsburg ArtWalk. During the Spring 2026 ArtWalk on Saturday, April 18 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, community members of all ages are invited to help create a large collaborative mural commemorating both the 20th anniversary of the Pittsburg ArtWalk and 150th anniversary of Pittsburg, KS.
The mural was created by local artist, Jenna Spencer, in a paint-by-number style, making it easy and welcoming for everyone, from first-time painters to experienced artists, to participate. Visitors will be able to select a numbered section of the mural and add their brushstrokes to a vibrant artwork celebrating Pittsburg’s creativity, culture, and community spirit.
The finished mural will highlight iconic elements of the Pittsburg ArtWalk, Downtown Pittsburg, and Kansas to symbolize and celebrate two decades of public art, local artists, and community collaboration.
“The ArtWalk has always been a popular downtown Pittsburg event that brings people together to celebrate local artists and creativity,” said artist Jenna Spencer. “This mural will allow the community to literally be the artist while celebrating the city’s and the ArtWalk’s anniversaries.”
All painting supplies will be provided on-site, and participants are welcome to stop by anytime during the event to contribute. The activity is free and open to the public thanks to our amazing sponsors: Pittsburg 150, The Community Foundation of SEK, Explore Crawford County, and Watco.
The Spring 2026 Pittsburg Art Walk will feature local artists, musicians, performances, and interactive art experiences throughout the evening.
